Our Travels

Glacier National Park, USA.

Much of 2014 was spent car-camping and cycling around the US, until November when we took off to Thailand.  After a brief break for Christmas and New Year’s with our families, we spent a January 2015 traveling all over Sri Lanka.

We arrived in Chennai, India on February 5 2015 with plans to bike tour South India.  After riding more than 1200 km/ 760 miles through Tamil Nadu, Kerala, and Karnataka, we traveled north by train to Mumbai and Lucknow before riding across the border into Nepal and across the Nepali Terai to Pokhara.  After spending a month “folded” in Nepal (where Mila did yoga while Dmitry trekked), we flew to Japan to tour the islands of Shikoku and Hokkaido, then onto Eastern Europe to cycle the Danube River from Budapest, Hungary to Bucharest, Romania.

We’re currently visiting friends and family in the US and planning our next adventures, and we’ll update this page as our plans solidify.  Recommendations on what to do or things to eat?  Suggestions as to where we should go next?  We’d love to hear from you!

please don’t forget that we fellow brompton owners/tourers are located in fairbanks, alaska; with a guest house and lots of free time to travel. we’re on the warm showers list, also.
    cheers,

Hi there, how do you overcome the problem I have heard, about reducing the pressure in your Brompton tyres when traveling on aircraft.

      Hi Paul,
Most of the time we don’t reduce the pressure in the tires and the Bromptons have been just fine. Though I would say it’s probably still a good idea to deflate the tires when checking the Brompton into baggage, if only to appease security screeners who might check the cargo along the way.
